Hitachi to Overhaul Kentucky Plant, Add 200 Jobs
A subsidiary of industrial conglomerate Hitachi plans to renovate an existing auto parts facility in Kentucky to produce motors for electric vehicles.
Hitachi Automotive Electric Motor Systems America, established by the Japanese company last spring, is overhauling part of sister company Hitachi Automotive Systems Americas' plant in Berea, Kentucky. State officials said the new company could begin production between April of 2022 and March of 2023, depending on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
